What matters is hard work and emotional intelligence’ - Millard Drexler

Many people are familiar with the concept of an IQ, which measures innate intelligence. However, it is EQ — or emotional intelligence — that often plays an even more vital role in our success at work. Emotional Intelligence refers to one’s ability to recognize and manage his/her own emotions, recognize and respond to the emotions of others and build effective social relationships that support success at both work and home.

Dr. Farida Virani was invited to speak on 'Working with Emotional Intelligence' at the leadership development programme 'Magnificence' was conducted by the Lion’s Club in partnership with the renowned, S.P.Jain's Management and Research Center in Mumbai on 26th Feb 2016. She deliberated upon the different elements of emotional intelligence, including characteristics associated with self-awareness, self-management, social awareness and relationship management.  She also helped the participants identify some practical steps to develop their emotional intelligence — for real and meaningful professional and life changes.
