'Twogether' – Enriching Relationships

The National Conciliation and Arbitration Board -NCAB in partnership with the Social Welfare Board –SWB conducted a workshop for couples - newly married or engaged to be married. The workshop was facilitated by Dr. Farida Virani, an expert in Behavioral Sciences and a trained Mediator. This research based workshop was developed after analyzing the data of root causes of martial conflicts and inviting inputs from the CAB chairs and the Social Welfare Board members. Some of the workshop modules were based on the four decades of research and approaches of Dr. John and Julie Gottman and Appreciative Inquiry techniques.
The programme was aimed at helping partners develop a strong, healthy relationship thus providing a better chance for a stable and satisfying marriage. The full day workshop discussed personalities its impact on behaviors and relationship, setting realistic expectations, effective communication, conflict resolution skills and the toxic behaviors which were detrimental to any marital relationship and tips on how to minimize them.  A special module was dedicated to managing relations with in laws and extended families. The overwhelming participant feedback mentioned the workshop was meaningful, engaging, interactive and exciting. The workshop was conducted at the Bandra in Mumbai
