National conference themed, ‘Preparing Indian Talent with Skills for Global Employability’, was organized by the Indian Merchants Chamber, on 21st June 2016. Mr. Deepak Kapoor, Principal Secretary of the Skill Development and Entrepreneurship Department of Maharashtra was the Chief Guest. He said, “the country could look to become a major supplier of skilled manpower across the globe if new age technical skills along with soft skills and communication are developed in the next couple of years.” Prof. S. Irudaya Rajan - Head Union Ministry of Overseas Indian Affairs Research Unit on International Migration, Centre for Development Studies, Thiruvananthapuram gave the key note address. He shared some interesting anecdotes and findings from his migration studies and surveys, elaborating on the strategies and highlighting the pitfalls if the Kerala's Migration Model was proposed to be replicated throughout India.

Farida Virani, Professor - HR and Behavioural Sciences – MET’s Institute of
Management, was the Master of Ceremony (MC) for the event. She was appreciated for
her inimitable style of facilitating the event and ensuring that programme
materialized without a hitch. The IMC
organizers fondly nicknamed her the ‘participant’s leader’ who enthusiastically
lead them in applause and appraisal.
