Dr. Farida Virani speaker for workshop on "Accreditation and Quality Assurance" At Fr. Conceicao Rodrigues College of Engineering, Mumbai The pressures for change in higher education are increasing in India. To remain viable, educational institutes / universities are building capacity to respond promptly, positively and wisely to this interlaced combination of 'change forces'. To meet these challenges Fr. Conceicao Rodrigues College of Engineering CRCE) at Bandra, Mumbai organized a workshop for its faculty and staff. The college offers Bachelor Degree courses in Production Engineering, Electronics Engineering, Computer Engineering and Information Technology. The two-day Workshop on "Accreditation and Quality Assurance" was scheduled on 4th and 5th of April, 2014. The program intended to provide a platform for understanding accreditation process and Outcome Based Education (OBE) along with a hands on training on preparing accreditation related documents. National Board of Accreditation (NBA), India is a permanent signatory member of the Washington Accord. The membership of Washington Accord is an international recognition of the quality of undergraduate engineering education offered by the member country and is an avenue to bring it into the world class category. Dr. Farida Virani is a trained resource person for NBA. Dr. Virani conducted a session on 'Faculty and Student Contribution' towards the Accreditation process.
